Earth House Wedding Photos

One of the most recognisable wedding venue in the Byron Bay Region, Earth House is a unique event space surrounded by a meticulously garden with spectacular 110-acre farmland views. Only 15 minutes from Bangalow, this purpose build wedding and event space is perfect for a rustic style country wedding.

Its unique construction differentiates EarthHouse from other venue providers in the area, with rammed earth walls selected for their rustic charm and thermal qualities. Construction took place over 2 years and the venue was completed in January 2015.

Earth House’s Stunning Rammed Earth Walls

An Iconic Byron Bay Wedding Venue

If you are going for a Mediterranean feel for your wedding this venue is perfect! Its spacious interior room offers an open fireplace, polished concrete floor, and soaring cathedral ceiling with exposed timber beams.

You can move out onto a large verandah suspended over the Corndale Valley and overlooking the beautiful Byron Bay hinterland, with spectacular northerly views to the Nightcap Ranges. Sitting high on a ridge, the wedding and events venue nestles amongst an established garden, including a 100-year-old fig tree and complete with stonewalls. The views from EarthHouse are spectacular, you can see uninterrupted views of the Nightcap Ranges.

EarthHouse has been designed as a blank canvas for clients to plan and create their perfect occasion The 100-year-old fig tree, becomes a centerpiece for your wedding ceremony, and right next to the fig tree is the best spot to hold your ceremony, to maximise the view for all of your wedding guests.

I would highly recommend holding both your ceremony and reception here, as the whole venue works exceptionally well as an ‘all-in-one’ venue.

Accommodation

EarthHouse also includes luxurious, boutique accommodation on-site. There are two intimate living spaces provided using the same rammed earth material as the wedding venue, both elegant queen rooms are beautifully furnished with everything you would need to have your bride prep at this location. There is also another guest house accommodation which is separated from the main house by a 10 meter covered walkway and courtyard – complete with an open fire and covered BBQ. All rooms feature sublime views of the Corndale Valley below. Breakfast is included, and Byron Bay is only 25 minutes away.

Catering

When it comes to catering, there is a large purpose-built catering area attached to the venue. EarthHouse works with a number of incredible local catering companies (who know the venue well). These include:

  • Sarah and Jeremy @ 100 Mile Table
  • Che @ Feast events
  • Monique @ Seaweed Cuisine

EarthHouse has more information about their recommended suppliers for catering on their website.

Music

Live and amplified music is accepted but is limited to a 3-piece-band. No percussion, live drums, or brass. There is a designated area in the main room with dance floor space. There is no PA equipment or sound system supplied, so you will have to contact a local dj to help you with this. Music must end by 10:00 pm and everyone is required to leave by 10:30 pm.

Transport

If you are having your bride prep away from the venue, or your accommodation is in Byron Bay, you may have to arrange transport for your wedding party. Obviously, there are a lot of options for transport but I would like to recommend one option which is popular in Byron Bay, it’s a company called Byron Bay Double Deckers and their buses have to be one of the most stylish ways to get to a wedding that I could think of!

Wedding Videography at Earth House

Earth House would have to be one of my favorite venues to capture wedding films. I pride myself on being able to make any setting as beautiful as possible, but I honestly feel like wherever I point my camera – it’s breathtaking. I hope that illustrates just how incredible this venue is.

There are numerous spots that are perfect for your bridal photos / video:

  • You can follow a road to the top of the hill (you will have to open a gate) and you will find a spot where you will almost have 360 views of the valley below. This is one of the more popular spots for wedding photos.

From one of my wedding videos, Amelia & Chris at the top of the hill.
  • There is also a macadamia farm nearby, which is another beautiful spot to get wedding photos. The macadamia farm is about a 5 minute drive from EarthHouse in the direction of Byron Bay.

  • Finally, for a drop-dead gorgeous look, I would highly suggest getting a photo on the road leading to the wedding venue (the road is almost as beautiful as the wedding venue!). The photo below was taken just outside of the macadamia farm.

As always, when it comes to developing your timeline for your wedding. I HIGHLY recommend taking your photos/video during golden hour (this is generally 1 hour before the sun sets), as was done with Amelia and Chris.
