I'm Richard, and I've Filmed 120+ Weddings

I started Flare Films in 2018 and I've been a Brisbane wedding videographer ever since. Most of my weekends are spent at ceremonies somewhere in South East Queensland, from city rooftops to hinterland farms.

The job, as I see it: come home with the day as it actually happened. The wobble in a voice during vows. The speech that went off the rails. The song that filled the dance floor. Then cut it into a film you'll still want to watch when your kids are old enough to laugh at the outfits.

The Day Moves Fast. The Film Doesn't.

Couples keep telling me the same thing: the day went by in four minutes. A film gives it back at full length, with the sound on. That's the part photos can't do, and it's why I only make films.

What the Day Looks Like with Me There

I plan the timeline with you beforehand, so on the day nobody is managing the videographer.

I film like a guest with a good seat: close enough to catch things, never directing you into poses or restaging moments.

I work in with your photographer. We share space all day, and the couples never have to referee.

If you're camera-shy, that's fine. Most of my couples are. The footage works because you're not performing for it.

What I Bring

Two cameras, so the ceremony and speeches always have a second angle.

Dedicated audio: lapel mics for vows, a feed from the sound desk for speeches.

A drone for venue and landscape shots, wherever the location and CASA rules allow.

Backups of every card on the day, then cloud storage after it.
