For wedding videography there are three main categories of cost. Budget, Professional and Luxury / High End. Typically budget is less than $1500, these wedding videographers are typically new and you cannot always guarantee quality. Professional starts at around $2000+ and at this point you are generally hiring a full-time wedding videographer who specialises in wedding videography, to help you with your day. High End videographers are typically the highest quality and most experienced in your area, they typically charge $5k+ and you are guaranteed to have a fantastic film.
My recommendation is if you are looking to have a wedding video, choose a professional videographer (or a luxury videographer). You may regret choosing a lower quality videographer – as they may not be able to properly capture your day. The only exception is if you’re not too worried about the quality and are just happy to have them capture your full ceremony or speeches, then at lower price points wedding videographers can be helpful.
